The 2nd Global Leadership Program of the School of Business was successfully held

The faculty and students of the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University embarked on the 2nd Global Leadership Program in Japan from July 17th to 26th, 2025. The program centered on thematic research and academic activities exploring Japanese business innovation. Theprogram was made possible through the generous supportof the Ho's Education Fund of the school. Led byZhang Yifang- Deputy Secretary of the Party Committeeof the school, the delegation comprised Professor Liang Jianping- Director of the Chen Ruiqiu Asia-Pacific Case Development and Research Center, Liu Xiao- Full-time Party and Administrative Affairs Officer, and 13 students. They spent a ten-day learning trip in Japan.

 

Faculties and students engaged in in-depth academic dialogues with scholars from Kyoto University and the University of Tokyo, two globally renowned institutions. The discussions centered on key frontiertopics in global management, including cross-cultural management, service innovation, and sustainable development,systematically developinga comprehensive knowledge framework ina multicultural context, thereby enhancing their capacity for innovation in the landscape of global governance.

 

Centered on the global industrial transformation trend of "from manufacturing to smartmanufacturing", the faculty-student team conducted in-depthsitevisits to the leading exemplars inJapansmanufacturing and service sectors - Omron Corporation, the headquartersof Toyota MotorCorporation, and the NHK Broadcasting Museum. They systematically examined the underlying principles and innovation driversrooted in theintegration of "technology,managementandculture" that underlie their excellence, enhancingtheir understanding oftheevolving global industrial landscape and the lean governance model.
