
嘉宾简介:
Yong Li is the professor of the University of Nevada, the Lee Professor of Entrepreneurship and Research Director of the Troesh Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Li’s research sits at the intersection of strategy, entrepreneurship, and international business. He studies how firms make investment decisions under uncertainty, with particular focus on venture capital, crowdfunding, new venture innovation and international investment. His work has been published extensively in major strategy and entrepreneurship journals. He currently serves as the Co-Editor of Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal (SEJ) and has held editorial board roles at other leading journals including AMJ, AMR, JBV, and JIBS. His research has received various honors and featured by Forbes, Entrepreneur, and Knowledge@Wharton. Li earned his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and he is an experienced educator, having taught strategy and entrepreneurship courses at the undergraduate, MBA/EMBA, and doctoral levels, and received teaching excellence recognition from the University of Illinois.
Li is a globally recognized expert on venture capital and corporate strategy. He has given seminar talks at leading business schools around the world, and delivered keynote speeches on topics spanning venture capital, crowdfunding, artificial intelligence, and technology commercialization. He currently serves on the advisory boards of several startups.
讲座简介:
This workshop is an academic research seminar specially designed for doctoral students and will be presided over by Professor Li Yong.This workshop will provide an overview of theoretical and empirical perspectives on several topics , with an emphasis on both classic and emerging topics and students need to present, analyze, critique and discuss the assigned papers.The thesis topics cover real options theory and entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial experimentation and opportunity verification, ecosystems and complementary technologies, as well as emerging research themes on entrepreneurship and strategy in the artificial intelligence era.
This workshop is not credit-bearing, and there is no assessment.But it emphasizes the significance of (rigorous) thinking that helps build competence in creating original knowledge, especially in the age of artificial intelligence. Accordingly, four to five required readings will be assigned for each session of this seminar (the optional readings are there to provide background or breadth for those particularly interested in a topic). Participants are expected to conduct in-depth research on the assigned readings, think critically and contribute actively throughout the workshop. Towards the end of the seminar, every participant shall independently complete a research proposal with unrestricted research topics, while topics related to artificial intelligence are recommended.
Upon the completion of this workshop, participants will :1. Be aware of classic and emerging research questions and topics in relevant research areas. 2. Be aware of methods and approaches used. 3. Improve the ability to analyze, critique and creatively think about social science research. 4. Improve the ability to formulate novel research questions and ideas.
